Ante/post-natal
Exercise for women during pregnancy has been shown to have many benefits, both physical and psychological. Many common complaints of pregnancy such as tiredness, varicosities and swelling of hands and feet can be reduced in women who exercise. Additionally, women who exercise during pregnancy are less likely to suffer from insomnia, stress, anxiety and depression. Women who exercise during pregnancy are also more likely to continue with exercise after birth.
Exercise after the birth of a child can help women regain their pre-pregnancy fitness and develop into strong and healthy mothers that are far more capable of coping with the rigours that motherhood, combined with running a home and holding down a job can come with.
HJ Personal Trainer can work with you before, during and after your pregnancy to ensure that you are always in the fittest condition possible. I will ensure that all exercise carried out is appropriate, safe and 100% designed to fit around you and your pregnancy.
We can work towards getting you fit and healthy ready to become pregnant. We can progress through your pregnancy, always ensuring that the exercise we carry out is appropriate for your pregnancy, each pregnancy trimester and how you are feeling at the time. Then we can work together after your baby is born to re-strengthen you, your body, your muscles and help you to shed that dreaded babyweight!
Older Adults
Think you’re too old for all that exercise malarkey? Think again. Exercise within the older section of the UK’s population is one of the biggest growing markets within the exercise industry. Why? Because research study after research study has shown up the endless benefits of exercising when you are older.

Children
If you would like your child or children, individually or in groups, to keep fit and healthy with HJ Personal Trainer, I can arrange lots of fun and exciting physical activities for them to take part in.
I am also a qualified primary school teacher, specialised in Physical Education and Special Needs so I have lots of experience with working with children of all ages and abilities. I have full GTCS membership and full police check disclosure up to the highest level to give you peace of mind that your children are going to be in safe and experienced hands.
Rehabilitation
Do you feel that an old or recent injury is preventing you from exercising and keeping healthy? Did you know that sometimes the best cure for nagging aches and pains, joints with poor range of movement and bodies that are recovering from illness and operations can be exercise?
I deal with each client and their particular rehabilitation requirements individually, often in close contact with any health care professional that that client may be under the care of such as physiotherapists, chiropractors, GPs. Together we can plan and work on a health and fitness programme that will allow informed, safe and beneficial exercise so you can reap all the rewards of a happy and functional body.
Medical Conditions
